Gemyrah Garrett is a 2025 graduate of thee illustrious Clark Atlanta University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. A multifaceted creative, she is a singer, actress, songwriter, screenwriter, and playwright whose passion for storytelling and performance shines through every project she touches.
Gemyrah loves to analyze and break down the emotion within scenes, productions, and music, finding depth and meaning in the human experience through her art. Ambitious and determined to inspire change through creativity, she has been invited to perform at numerous events and venues, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and authentic presence.
Her long-term vision is to open a boarding school of the arts for K–12 students, specifically designed to help talented children whose parents may not be able to afford to support their dreams. This school will provide a space for students to do nothing but dream — with unlimited resources, dedicated mentorship, and holistic arts education that hones their craft and prepares them for the real world.
As an associate producer for 2026 In Crisis, Gemyrah is elated to contribute her skills in securing grant funding and sponsorships for this transformative event. Her original play, Digestion, will also be featured — a profound work that confronts the devastating truth of suppression, mental health stigma, and the silent suffering of Black men in America. The play explores the haunting question: What goes in must come out — but when it doesn’t, it destroys
from within.
